EP6 ONIGIRI OJISAN-2

After that, I entered the city of Sapporo, but I didn’t have time for sightseeing.
I searched for National Route 274, which is the road leading to Yubari.
It was already 2:00 pm when we joined the R274 in the harsh sunlight of Sapporo.

“Anyway, I’m going to Yubari today.”

With that in mind, I ran.

By the time I passed through Sapporo, the sunlight had softened, and instead, a strong wind had become conspicuous.

I felt hot until a while ago, but it suddenly became cold.

Perhaps because of the strong wind, my body got a little tired, so I decided to take a break at the next convenience store.

And on the way to the convenience store, I was surprised to see a certain temperature display board.

“Se… 17 degrees C.??No way! ! “

It must be cold. In a hurry, I put on my windbreaker.

“Even so, it’s 17 degrees Celsius in summer. After all, it’s Hokkaido…”

When I started running again, I was headed for a mountain road with few signs of people.

By the time I finally arrived at Yubari City after passing through Oiwake Town, the sun had already set and only a faint glow of the setting sun remained.
It was a nice view, but I was desperate to find a campsite about 20 km away from here, so I didn’t have time to enjoy it.

“When it gets this dark, I feel it uneasy for overlooking the campsite. And there are no streetlights. It’s pitch black.”

I was feeling a little relieved when I saw the street lights l it one after another with some distance while being wrapped in anxiety.

The destination was a campsite with a strange name, the Yellow Handkerchief Campsite of Happiness.

Running cautiously in the dark, I finally found a place that looked like it.
But there was no one camping there, no one at what appeared to be a reception desk, and there was an eerie atmosphere.

I was very tired and didn’t want to run anymore, but I didn’t have the courage to stay there, so I had no choice but to aim for another campsite.

After about 1-2 km from that place, I arrived at a campsite that looked like a campsite.

The time was already close to nine o’clock at night.
I went to the reception while worried about whether I would be able to make it in time.

And I was able to finish the reception somehow, but I was about to lose the strength to put up the tent, and I was sluggishly pitching the tent in a state of exhaustion.

Then, the man, who was the janitor whom I had met at the reception earlier, was very kind enough to bring a lot of ONIGIRI(rice ball) to the tent I was setting up and gave them to me.
He must have seen me that I set my tent with very tired appearances.

Really, may I have it?

I thought it was a shame to have it, so I said.
Then the old man said to me as follows:

“Because I have a son like you…”

The moment I heard that, I almost burst into tears.
Those words were so grateful to me after I had run down a dark and lonely road until I was almost exhausted.

“Thank you very much.”

I was tired, but it filled me with the utmost joy.

I felt that I would never forget this forever.

When I finally entered the sleeping bag in the tent, I heard a child’s voice from the next tent. It’s like a family camper. It looked like a lot of fun.
But he only said dirty jokes.

“After all, he’s a child…”

I was finally able to rest my tired body and sleep.

The next morning, when I woke up and was preparing to leave, I entered the campsite in pitch darkness yesterday and didn’t see the surrounding scenery very well, so I thought, “Is this place like this?”
